The Javea Triangle

The Javea Triangle

A coastal town on the Costa Blanca, Javea has the perfect mix of history and culture but with areas that provide a stylish and modern twist. In a similar contrast, the tranquil meditarranean sea is on your doorstep and you only have to look behind you to see the rugged mountainous backdrop which includes the hugely impressive and sunkissed ‘Montgo’ looming large, offering an ideal natural protection from most clouds that try to linger over to block your sun. Javea is divided into three main areas el pueblo viejo (the old town), el arenal (the beach area) and el puerto (the port). Although they are all situated within around a 30 minute walk from each other, all three areas boast their own character and atmosphere which makes for the perfect triangle to plot your days around.

El pueblo viejo- An extremely historical and charming part of javea, located 2km from the sandy beach, you are transported back in time and find yourself strolling around on narrow cobbled streets and finding quaint coffee shops, and restaurants to put the feet up and watch the world go by. El pueblo viejo has even more to it than that though, it is also where you will find the town hall and other important buildings such as government buildings, banks and the museum. Whilst at any of these places, you can't help but look up in awe at the most beautifully gothic cathedral that the area is blessed with. A peaceful place to live and is still rich with culture, this may be down to a number of Spanish families residing here all year round.

El arenal- A different kind of atmosphere to el peublo viejo but every bit as enjoyable. This is the beach side of town and you’ll find a nice stretch of sandy shoreline with palm trees dotted throughout. The perfect size beach for all of your usual seaside activities but the beauty is that, lined along the promenade behind you is a vast array of classy restaurants, bars and shops. Wherever you choose to frequent, be rest assured that you’ll have a stunning view towards the horizon filled with gorgeous blue sea and sailing boats. Definitely the liveliest part of town and when the sun goes down, el arenal certainly lives up to that name. Plenty of bars stay open until the early hours of the morning and when tourist time hits in the summer, the place is heaving! There is a splendid variety of villas for sale inJavea, stunning property in general with different types of character to them. None of which will be over a certain height due to building regulations preventing tall buildings ruining the vibrant atmosphere and gorgeous views that el arenal is renowned for.

El puerto- A truly delightful part of town whether you’re indulging in your morning coffee and gazing into the sunrise or finding a quirky tapas bar for a late evening meal. This is the fishing port and harbour part of the town with an abundance of fresh seafood being brought in each day and supplying the majority of restaurants in the local area. El peurto is a wonderful place to relax, unwind and enjoy the picture perfect view of the bay. There are a number of narrow back streets too, each corner turned unearthing new bars and restaurants to explore, it also has a perfectly sized cinema for you to catch the latest movie.

The three areas combined create a wonderful variety of authentic spanish culture and modern diversity. The new population of Javea that is mainly made up of English, Dutch and German families have integrated well and are very much part of society here. There are a mixture of international and public schools to choose from and plenty of property for sale in Javea so Javea is no longer just a holiday paradise, it is a place you can call home.Whether you are a family, a couple or on your own, who wouldn't want to be based somewhere in this triangle that is the jewel of the Costa Blanca?.
